Throwback Tuesday is a thing right? I'm only 22 and already I am losing my touch with what's hip and stuff. Must be a mom thing. Here's a throwback to a couple of months ago when we got to spend Easter with my husbands family in the tiny town of St. Anthony, Idaho. We stayed in a house that has been in the Holyoak family for generations and it was such a treat to see a place where so many of my husband's childhood memories took place. This was our daughter Sally's first Easter. Although she wasn't super actively involved in the festivities, she was able to learn how to climb stairs, bond with her cousins, and work on those grasping skills. Most of my memories from when I was very young come from home videos. Not many of us actually remember what it was like to be an infant, but we all were at some point. Our parents remember that time like it was yesterday. So when memories like this are preserved we can look back and see parts of our lives that we did...

Graduating from college, moving to a new apartment, and training for a new job have kept me away from my blog for the past couple of weeks, but now... I am back! In the midst of all the craziness I had the opportunity to capture my cute cousin Michaella being proposed to by her boyfriend Matt. When he reached out to me asking me to be there for the proposal I was so excited! Even though I walked across a stage to receive my diploma Friday morning, my mind was focused on making sure all my equipment was ready for Friday night so I could do what I love: filming people in their happiest moments.  Michaella and Matt were at my apartment the other day and seeing their reactions when watching their proposal play out before them was priceless! Michaella's squeal of joy was all I wanted to hear when she saw a key moment being captured forever. That is why I do this. This couple planned their wedding in a month after knowing each other for about a year and a half, and talk about true love. Their chemistry was amazing and I felt like we were old friends after just a few hours of shooting. I am all about keeping things sweet and simple, and fell in love with how this wedding day played out. After a ceremony at the temple, we took pictures with all the family and friends that came to support them, many of which traveled quite a ways to be there. Afterwards we went to a lovely luncheon at a nearby church building. The couple exchanged rings following speeches given by their fathers. Everyone talked, ate and laughed. The father of the bride presented the group with a video he made that compiled pictures of the two through the years. Both bride and groom danced with their parents to the same song, and half way through the groom and his mom decided to invite his step mom to finish off the song with him. Talk about tear jerking! My first gig was when I was 13 and my uncle asked if I would film his wedding. I was over the moon! Ever since I found my parent's video camera and learned about iMovie, I drove my family a bit nuts trying to document EVERYTHING. Since then I have graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in film. I have created training videos for various divisions of the BYU police department and have just finished editing my first "official" wedding. I am married to a hard working ROTC cadet who graduates from BYU in winter and mom to a crazy little girl that is just learning to crawl and scream for what she wants.  I love capturing the moments in my every day life but also want to expand my opportunities and capture the events in your life!
